BASQUE MUSIC CHOIRS
It is always known that basques are introduced in musical edducation in their early childhood. This is the reason for the huge interest and support they give to choral music.
Music in general seems to mean a lot for the basque people and there are multiple groups, associations and schools to learn, practice and perform choral music.
An ´´OCHOTE´´ is a small chamber music choir very typical in the basque territory. It is formed usually by EIGHT deep voices divided in two ´´first tenors´´ ,another two ´´second tenors´´, a couple of ´´baritones´´ and a pair of ´´bass-baritones´´
These ´´ochotes´´ have been very popular gathering at the bars to sing as an entertainment and to liven up festivals and celebrations. They normally sing basque traditional and folckloric songs.
